What Music Graduates Do

Thinking about a career in Music?

There are many options for anyone interested in music. Of these, performance, composition, teaching, engineering, and production are among the most common. Often, musicians will combine several of these into one career.

Highline's Music Department offers a wide range of classes that can help prepare you for whatever path you pursue.

To be successful in music, it is important to master skills from each of the primary areas of music.

Highline's Concert Chorale, jazz band and chamber music program help you develop technical skills on your instrument or with your voice, as well as offering performance opportunities throughout the year.
Our theory programs covers sight-reading, composition, analysis, sight-singing and ear-training.
The history and literature offerings at Highline span the gamut of Western concert music to jazz, American Popular Music, and world musics.
